Description

The system is based on the combination of 5G network, multi-camera setup, and artificial intelligence algorithms, and has been deployed at the Sant Bertran dock of the Port of Barcelona, an area with high maritime traffic flow and diversity.

The cameras capture streaming video which, through triangulation from different perspectives, feeds an AI algorithm developed with Control4enviro. This algorithm identifies and provides data on each vessel: type, dimensions, direction, and exact location.

This information is displayed on an interactive dashboard developed by Nexus Geographics, designed for use by any professional from the Port Authority of Barcelona.

Objectives

  • Achieve faster and more accurate geolocation of vessels.
  • Address the shortcomings of current monitoring systems.
  • Detect and identify all traffic in the water surface area in real time.
  • Integrate technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence to improve operational visibility.
  • Enable more efficient and user-friendly supervision by the Port Authority

Benefits

  • Immediate access to information through an intuitive dashboard.
  • Complete data on the position, direction, size, and type of each vessel.
  • Significant improvement over existing AIS and RADAR systems.
  • Streaming video processing with responses almost in real time.
  • Accurate visual representation of what is happening inside the dock.
